More AOL screens
Problem
In the late 90s, the Tribune Co. teamed up with America Online to launch local online products in the four markets serviced by Tribune newspapers. The South Florida product needed to exist on the AOL platform as well as the Web.
Solution
My design was unique for AOL screens because the content for the South Florida AOL product was much more robust than standard Digital Cities. I used extensive promotional text and I designed the screens to communicate that the content was specific to South Florida.
I used a minimalist design for the Web product to increase the effectiveness of the art used in promotional areas. Each of the product's five sections had unique requirements, so my design was flexible, but still provided an overall consistency.
